Literacy Support
Does your child need additional support in literacy? Whether your child has an IEP, evaluation, or needs some additional opportunities to solidify literacy skills, I offer one-on-one literacy support for K-6 students that is customized to meet their needs.
Sessions may include:
consultation with family, teachers, and other support providers
student assessment
executive function support
instruction in a multi-sensory phonics program to build and/or remediate decoding, encoding, and fluency skills
development of listening and reading comprehension to enhance ability to make meaning of text
instruction in writing cohesive, well-organized sentences, paragraphs, and essays
supporting your child in understanding, and taking pride in, their learning disability

Has your child recently been diagnosed with a learning disability, or do you suspect their academic struggles may be the result of one?
In our work together, you will gain support in the following areas:
deciding which therapies or further assessment your child may need
choosing the right neuropsychologist to complete a psycho-educational assessment
navigating your local public school system’s evaluation process
understanding the complete evaluation and its implications for your child
finding service providers (OT, PT, speech and language), privately or through your local public school
considering different school settings
advocating for accommodations in your child’s classroom
discovering more about your brilliant child’s disability and how you can support them at home
Virtual sessions available in all locations.
In-person sessions are available in Fairfield and New Haven Counties, in Connecticut.
